EXPO2020 case Behavioral Change Group. Microlearning about COVID19 guidelines.

Covid19 disrupted work and life as we knew it, and words like "pandemic," "lockdown," "facemasks," and "social distancing" became part of our vocabulary. EXPO2020 was being held during the pandemic, and visitor safety was of the utmost importance.

Problem

In the midst of the pandemic, EXPO2020 was being held in Dubai, and millions of people were expected to visit the EXPO site. To keep everyone safe, it was crucial that all people followed the same simple - but effective - safety and health measures.

They wanted a solution that everyone could easily use and access, regardless of their language, location, or tech proficiency.

Action

Using best practices presented by the WHO and local policies, we worked with the EXPO2020 staff to design a simple and effective microlearning course easily accessible for all members of staff.

The microlearning course provides information, instructions and learning about medical emergencies, lost property handling, Covid19 procedures and the newest health and safety measures. Members of staff were upskilled to handle everyday situations on site.

Result

By using an app-based microlearning course containing easy-to-access safety and health measures, day-to-day updates, and chat functionality for consultation, staff at EXPO2020 were able to navigate quickly, comply with regulations in a minute, and handle emerged and unplanned turnarounds.
